This includes creating high-quality content in addition to monitoring your site’s technical health. In other words, SEO is designed to improve the appearance and positioning of web pages in organic search results. Because organic search is the most prominent way for people to discover and access online content, a good SEO strategy is essential for improving the quality and quantity of traffic to your website.

What is SEO?

SEO refers to Search Engine Optimization as the process of taking steps to help a website or piece of content rank higher on Google. Organic traffic is important for website and blog page.

The key difference between SEO and paid advertising is that SEO involves “organic” ranking, which means you don’t pay to be in that space. To make it a bit simpler, search engine optimization means taking a piece of online content and optimizing it so search engines like Google show it towards the top of the page when someone searches for something.

Why is SEO important?

To understand the value of SEO, let’s break our definition into three parts:

Organic search results

Organic search results mean traffic without paying something. The unpaid listings on a search engine results page (SERP) that the search engine has determined are most relevant to the user’s query. Organic search results differ from paid search results in that they are ranked according to the search engine’s organic ranking algorithms rather by advertiser bids. It is not possible to pay to have your page appear higher in organic search results.

Quality of organic traffic

Quality of organic traffic means how relevant the user and their search query are to the content that exists on your website.  You can attract all the visitors in the world, but if they’re coming to your site because Google tells them you’re a source for Apple computers when really you’re a farmer selling apples, those visitors are likely to leave your site without completing any conversions.

Quantity of organic traffic

Quantity of organic traffic means the number of people who reach your site through organic search. Users are considerably more likely to click on search results that appear towards the top of the SERP, therefore it’s critical to optimize your SEO strategy to rank relevant pages as high as possible. The more high-quality visitors you bring to your site, the more likely you are to see valuable conversions rise.

To better understand how you can rank your content higher in the search engines, you need to first understand how search works.

On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO

On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO are two equally important paths of broader SEO terms.

On-page SEO is about creating content to improve your rankings. This comes down to incorporating keywords into your pages and content, writing high-quality content regularly, making sure your meta tags and titles are keyword-rich and well-written, among other factors.

Off-page SEO means optimization happening off of your website itself, such as earning backlinks. This part of the equation involves building relationships and creating content people want to share. Though it takes a lot of legwork, it’s integral to SEO success.

How does SEO work?

SEO is the art of persuading search engines to recommend your content to their users as the best solution to their problem.

SEO works by optimizing your website for the search engines that you want to rank for, whether it’s Google, Bing, Amazon, or YouTube. As an SEO expert, your duty is to make sure that a search engine sees your site as the overall best results for a person’s search. How they determine the “best” results is based on an algorithm that takes into account authority, relevancy to that query, loading speed, and more.

When a user types or speaks a query into the search box, the search engine uses complex algorithms to pull out what it believes to be the most accurate and useful list of results for that query. And these organic results can include web pages full of text, news articles, images, and videos, local business listings, and other more niche types of content.

How does Search Engine Works?

The existence of search engines is all about satisfying their users. They want to provide the best results of users’ queries online. When someone uses a search engine, such as Google, Bing, or Yahoo, they’re looking for the solution to a problem or the answer to a question. These engines want to provide the most helpful, relevant, and credible answer or solution.

Black Hat SEO Strategy

Sometimes website user uses a shortcut to get traffic to their websites and when they do this, it means that they are using black hat SEO strategy. People who implement black hat SEO tend to use sneaky tactics like keyword stuffing and link scraping to rank quickly. Black hat SEO strategy might work for the short-term and get you some traffic to your site, but after a while, Google ends up penalizing and even blacklisting your site so you’ll never rank.

White Hat SEO Strategy

In contrast, the White hat SEO strategy is the way to build a sustainable online business. And when you apply this SEO strategy, you’ll focus on your human audience. With a white hat SEO strategy, you’ll try to give them the best content possible and make it easily accessible by playing according to the search engine’s rules.

Gray Hat SEO Strategy

SEO strategy is not only black and white, SEO strategy is also gray. A Gray Hat SEO strategy means not as pure or innocent as the whitest of white hats, but it isn’t quite as egregiously manipulative as black hat techniques can be. Remember that you’re not trying to trick anyone or intentionally game the system with a gray hat. However, you’re trying to get a distinct advantage.
